WHat is Summer Staff?

Camp Harvest summer staff is a team of 20 individuals who choose to spend their summer serving on camp property to create a fun, clean, safe and sacred space.

Our team works in both visible and invisible capacities to see that no barriers get in the way of God meeting each and every student during their week at camp.

Camp staff serve as the primary facilitators of the camp experience as they “make the magic happen.” Our team serves meals, runs activities, coordinates big games, lifeguards camp waters, and creates night event programming. You’ll find camp staff wearing multiple hats at any given moment, each promoting God’s glory in their hard work and ministry.

As a camp staff, you not only see God change lives, but also experience it. When you devote a summer to honoring God in a variety of ways both seen and unseen, you learn to lean on the Lord as you wake up every morning to make room for God to work.

As someone who grew up attending Camp Harvest as a camper, there was no doubt in my mind that by the time I graduated I wanted to be camp staff. Having now been a part of camp as a student, cabin leader, staff member, and now director, I have witnessed God at work in every corner of camp, and find that it is my greatest privilege to continue working in a place where God works too.

I cannot recommend a summer on staff enough, as it teaches enduring tools of faith such as sacrificial service, true dependence on the Lord, and the practice of choosing joy.

As camp staff last summer, I got to witness God move each and every day without fail. Even when it was hard or tiring, the Lord still made a way. I made lifelong friends and it truly was the best summer of my life.

Being away from the busyness of the world helped me grow closer to God, and prepared me well to go on mission on my school campus. I would recommend being camp staff at Camp Harvest to anyone who wants to serve the Lord and have a life-changing experience at the same time!

Summer staff '25 & '26

Serving as staff at Camp Harvest has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life. What started as simply saying “yes” to serving as a summer staff member back in 2022 turned into four summers of deep personal growth, intentional leadership development, and life-changing relationships. From faithfully serving my first year, to caring for campers as a health officer, and later stewarding greater responsibility as head lifeguard for two summers, each role required me to trust the Lord in new ways. Watching hearts soften, walls break down, and students boldly step into faith has been overwhelming in the most beautiful way.

Those summers strengthened my faith in ways I cannot fully put into words and showed me what servant leadership truly looks like. God used Camp Harvest not only to grow my leadership skills, but also to refine my character, deepen my faith, and bless me with lifelong friendships rooted in Christ.
